Competition: Seoul Yeoui-Naru Ferry Terminal Public Building
The new ferry terminal comprises four pavilions, three ponds, and three gardens built with seven barges. Combinations of four elements, roof, colonnade, mezzanine and room allow for flexible spatial arrangements to house various programmatic possibilities. Barge with structural frame is fabricated in the shipyard, tugged over and anchored before being fitted out on site to minimize the impact of construction on aquatic ecosystem and park-goers. The new ferry terminal is a prototype for a system that can evolve and grow over time.
