Refugees in Berlin live in social housing share dissolved in the local population, as well as in refugee camps. Scattered refugees desire a gathering place to form their own community, especially for vulnerable population who requires social supports on consultation, education, and hygiene. After the demolition of the Berlin Wall, the trace of its stance became social and physical segregation; be it the wall itself, strip of land or the line of people along the trace of the wall that became tourist spot. However, the city also holds a number of potentials; The Wall was never a single wall but defined zone by two layered broken walls and the space in between. There also found more open spaces near the border area; expandability. The city also has potential usage from existing infrastructure such as a number of toilets, telephone booths, sentry posts, the water and electricity.
The proposal is converting these zones and their neighbored open space for refugee market sites where healing market can be emerged for themselves and the local. The team proposes initiator for the wall market network and it is expected to be complete by the refugee and the local over time.
