The Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) has been the symbol of division and war. As the spi-off from the Korean War (1950~53), the DMZ runs across the Korean Peninsula and divide it into two parts. In this massive area of 250 km long and 4km wide, the DMZ has been unhealed for more than 60 years. This land contains the scars of history, people and nature, which must be solved and healed ager the unification of Korea. Furthermore, the memory within the land has to be preserved.
The "Post-War Linage," the linear structure running along the hill and ridge of the DMZ, recovers and connects the wound fro the war. As the elegant but strong stokes on the white blank paper creates an Oriental Painting, the path that the "Post-War Linkage" runs, connects the DMZ with the past and future. It opens up the land to the people by securing the land with eliminating ruins of the Korean War of 1 million mines and 160,000 remains under the DMZ. Moreover, ot revegetates the degraded ecosystem to restore and preserve the flora and fauna. By meeting a proper clear end to the past, the "Post-War Linkage" provide a safe and promising environment for the people to form and communicate with the future.
